This morning, Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa, OGW, attended the official handing over ceremony of disease surveillance vehicles to counties, presided over by H.E. President Dr. William Ruto at State House, Nairobi.

Speaking on behalf of the Council of Governors, Governor Barasa expressed gratitude for the collaboration between the National Government and County Governments in advancing Universal Health Coverage, with a strong focus on preventive healthcare.

โ€œThese vehicles will significantly strengthen disease surveillance and facilitate rapid response across all 47 County Governments,โ€ said Governor Barasa. โ€œThey are a vital asset in enhancing public health preparedness and improving service delivery at the county level,” he added.

The deployment of these vehicles marks a major milestone in fortifying public health systems and promoting early disease detection and response โ€” both in Kakamega County and across the country.

The initiative aligns with Governor Barasaโ€™s health agenda to deliver quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare services to the people of Kakamega County.
